Read- and publish agreement

Researchers at Lund University can use agreements to publish open access with easy handling of the administrative processes and negotiated costs. Read more about the terms of the agreement here.

About the agreement

Researchers at Lund University can publish open access in a large number of journals from Elsevier. Both hybrid journals and pure open access journals are included in the agreement. Initially the cost of publishing is paid by the University Library.

The article types eligible to publish within the agreement are: Data in brief, Full-length article, Insights, Micro-article, Original software publication, Protocols, Review article, Short communication, Short review, Video Article.

The corresponding author must be affiliated to Lund University and have stated Lund University as their affiliation in the article to publish open access within the agreement.

The author can choose between different Creative Commons licenses.

Fees related to the printed journal, e.g., page charges or color charges, are not covered by the agreement.

Workflow for authors

When submitting an article, always use your institutional e-mail (ending with lu.se or lth.se).
The corresponding author receives a link to Elsevier's platform via e-mail upon acceptance of the article. State the affiliation (Lund University) and add other information in the platform. "Gold Open Access" at no cost is the only option under "Publishing Options". Lastly, the author can select a CC license.

The information stated by the corresponding author is sent on to the University Library, where the author's affiliation to Lund University is confirmed. After this, the article will be immediately open access when published.
