Books | Borrow and return
Books on shelves are for in-house use only
The public collection is on the entrance floor, and the Swedish parliamentary documents are on the first floor. The books are not available for borrowing.
You request loans
Everything you can borrow is in storage, and you must request it in advance.
You borrow the course literature from the faculty libraries
You cannot borrow course literature from the University Library. Instead, you borrow course literature from your faculty library.
Your LU Card serves as your library card
If you are a student or staff member at Lund University, you must use your LU card as a library card.
First, you have to activate your LU card as a library card. If you are a student, you activate it in the Library catalogue. You must visit a Lund University library to activate your card if you are a staff member.
After you have activated your LU card as a library card, you can use it to borrow. You must enter your LU Card PIN to borrow books at our self-checkout machines.

Library card for those who do not have an LU Card
If you are not a student or staff member at Lund University, you must be eighteen to get a library card at Lund University Libraries. Visit one of the libraries to get a library card.
Everything you can borrow is in storage, so you must request it in advance.
The requested books are on the pickup shelf on the entrance floor. To borrow, please use the self-checkout machine.
The self-service machines for borrowing and returning books are on the entrance floor.
You can return books to any library within Lund University.
Study | Research
Study spaces are available on the entrance floor and the first floor.
Group study rooms are on the first floor. Lund University students and staff can book them.

This autumn, there will be group workspaces on the third floor.
You pick up, borrow, and store your reading room loans in Bengtssonsalen. You borrow using the self-checkout machine. You are welcome to read these loans anywhere within the building.
You return reading room loans at the information desk.
If you are a researcher or a doctoral student, you may use the scholars' reading rooms on the first floor. The reading rooms are locked. Please collect the door code at the information desk on the entrance floor.
The Special Collections Reading Room is in the basement.

Practicality | Accessibility
Public computers and search computers are on the entrance floor. Search computers are also available in the basement. Wireless networks are available throughout the building.
Wireless network
The university's wireless network, Eduroam, is available to students and staff. Before using Eduroam, you need to set up the wireless network.

Guest login for visitors
Visitors use the guest network LU Guest. You register with your name and phone number and receive a code via SMS to log in.
The information desk is on the entrance floor.
There is a room with printers on the entrance floor. Printers are also available in the basement and on the first floor.
The library uses the University's printing system
You can copy, scan, and print at the library using the Papercut printing system.
If you are a student or a staff member, connect your student or Lucat account to the printing system. Other visitors connect guest accounts to the printing system.

Prices
Scans are free. You pay for copies and prints by connecting your debit or credit card to Papercut. You can also buy and register a top-up prepaid card.

If you are a staff member at Lund University, copying and printing with your Lucat account is free.
A selection of today's newspapers is available on the entrance floor.

Parking
On Helgonavägen 2, to the left of the building's main entrance, there is one parking space for people with disabilities.
Entrance
There is a ramp and an accessible lift to the left of the entrance stairs at Helgonabacken 1.
Guide and assistance dogs
Guide and assistance dogs accompanied by their handlers are allowed in the library. Other animals are not allowed.
Lifts
There is an accessible lift to the group study rooms on the first floor.
There is a lift to the basement, floors one and three in the eastern stairwell. However, the lift does not meet accessibility requirements. If you need help, please call 046-222 91 90. We will be happy to assist you.
Toilet
Accessible toilets are available on the entrance floor and in the basement.
Toilets are available on all floors.
Food | Shop
Café UB will open this autumn.
You are not allowed to eat in the library.
Library books are part of Swedish cultural heritage. The library safeguards and preserves them for future generations. So, eating is not permitted in the library.
Drinks with lids are okay to bring into the library.
The shop is at the information desk. It sells items with motifs from our collections. You can also buy a selection of the University's merchandise.
