Springer Nature Fully Open Access
Publishing Open Access with Springer/Nature
Researchers at Lund University can use agreements to publish open access with easy handling of the administrative processes and negotiated costs. Read more about the terms of the agreement here.
About the agreement
The agreement provides open access publishing under negotiated conditions in open access journals from Springer Nature. The agreement includes the following imprints:
- BioMed Central (BMC)
- Springer Open Journals
- NatureResearch (including Nature Communications and Scientific Reports)
- Palgrave Macmillan (only one journal: Palgrave Communications)
The agreement covers the following article types: Original Paper, Review Paper, Brief Communication, and Continuous Education.
All articles are published with a CC BY license.
The corresponding author's affiliation with Lund University must be stated in the published article.
The agreement is valid until a specified number of articles have been published.
Lund University is also part of additional national agreements with Springer Nature. The Nature Research Journals agreement covers publishing in Nature journals, and the Springer Compact agreement includes approximately 2000 of the publisher's hybrid journals.
Workflow for authors
To facilitate publisher’s ability to identify researchers from organisations that are part of the agreement, please make sure of the following:
- State your affiliation with Lund University in the article and, if possible, in the publisher’s manuscript submission system.
- Use your institutional e-mail address (ending with “lu.se” or “lth.se”) when submitting the manuscript.
Publishing costs at Lund University
Parts of the costs of publishing, both within the agreements and those paid with the extra publishing support, are later invoiced to the faculties. Depending on how your faculty chooses to handle the costs, you may have to pay a part of the publication fee at a later stage.
