Taylor & Francis
About the agreement
The agreement is a national so-called “Read & Publish” agreement. This means that the article processing charges are already prepaid, since the agreement includes both the costs of the library's subscriptions as well as the costs of open access publishing. The agreement was negotiated by The National Library of Sweden and in addition to Lund University, about 40 other Swedish research institutes have joined. There is a common cap for all agreement members set at 1450 APCs. When it is reached, the publish part of the agreement ceases to apply.
The agreement applies to articles published in 2018 and later.
Only what Taylor & Francis classify as core content is included in the agreement.
The agreement includes about 2300 of Taylor & Francis’ hybrid journals (subscription-based journals where articles can be available open access through a publication fee). The publishers full open access journals are not included.
If you wish to publish in a fully open access journal you can apply for support from the central LU APC-fund.
Workflow for authors
When authors submit a manuscript to a Taylor & Francis journal they need to state their affiliation with Lund University and use LU / LTH email address. This way Taylor & Francis will automatically identify articles that qualifies for open access publishing within the agreement.
On acceptance of the article, the library will verify the affiliation after which the article will be immediately open access when published.
