Springer Nature Fully Open Access
About the agreement
Springer Nature Fully OA is a pilot agreement for publishing in pure open access journals. Pure open access means that all content in the journal is freely available to everyone, no subscription is needed.
If the corresponding author is affiliated to Lund University, the APC cost is 100% financed through the agreement. The affiliation is verified by the Lund University Library and after that the article becomes freely available. It is when the article is accepted that the agreement comes into force, not immediately upon submission.
Those who participate in the agreement in Sweden have not received individual quotas. The agreement is valid until a certain number of articles have been published and it is “first come, first served” on a national basis.
The agreement applies to articles accepted as of July 15, 2019.
Since this agreement applies to Open Access journals, no application is needed to the central APC fund when it comes to the included journals.
Journals from the following imprints are included in this agreement: BioMed Central (BMC), Springer Open Journals, NatureResearch (including Nature Communications and Scientific Reports) and Palgrave Macmillan (one journal: Palgrave Communications).
Workflow for authors
State your affiliation to Lund University and always use the LU / LTH e-mail in contact with the publisher.
LU-affiliated corresponding authors will be identified by the publisher when submitting a manuscript. When asked to enter the affiliation, only enter Lund University, to facilitate the identification. The affiliation is then also verified by the Lund University Library.
The agreement comes into force when the article is accepted, not upon submission. When the article accepted, the researcher receives a request regarding OA and payment.
