Read- and publish agreement
A national agreement the enables free or discounted open access publishing in SAGE hybrid journals.
About the agreement
Researchers at Lund University can publish open access free of charge in SAGE's hybrid journals. Hybrid journals are subscription-based journals with an open access option.
There is also a 20% discount for publishing in the publisher's open access journals.
Corresponding author must be affiliated to Lund University and have stated Lund University as their affiliation in the article in order to be able to publish open access within the agreement.
Journals included in this or other current publisher agreements are found by using our search service where all journal titles are listed.
Workflow for authors
State the affiliation with Lund University and use the institutional e-mail (lu.se or lth.se) address when submitting an article. The eligibility for the agreement is based on this, Lund University Library is not involved in the process of verifying author affiliation for this agreement.
When the article has been accepted for publication, and if you have been identified as eligible, you will receive an email with a link to Sage Open Access Portal (SOAP). Use this link and follow the steps to make your article open access.
Note that CC BY is the default license option, you can contact the publisher directly if any other type of license is preferred.
Open access journals
The agreement gives a 20% discount on publishing in SAGE's open access journals. Since the entire cost of the article is not covered by the agreement, it is also possible to apply for funding from Lund University's central APC fund.
Articles in the open access-journals are published with CC BY-NC license until the submission management system can handle this type of articles. The author can contact the publisher directly and ask for another license.
