Read- and publish agreement
Researchers at Lund University can use a national agreement to publish open access without any fee in a number of titles in the ScienceDirect Freedom Collection, in journals from Learned Societies and in a number of titles from Cell Press.
About the agreement
Researchers at Lund University can publish open access free of charge in journals linked to Elsevier:
- several journals included in the ScienceDirect Freedom Collection, some are excluded
- journals from from learned societies
- some journals from Cell Press
- all open access journals
Publishing within the agreement applies to articles submitted from January 1st, 2020.
The corresponding author must be affiliated to Lund University and have stated Lund University as their affiliation in the article in order to be able to publish open access within the agreement. Authors can choose between CC BY and CC BY-NC-ND licenses.
Fees related to the printed journal, e.g. page charges or colour charges, are not covered by the agreement.
Journals included in this or other current publisher agreements are found by using our search service where all journal titles are listed.
Workflow for authors
Always use your institutional e-mail (ending with lu.se or lth.se) when submitting an article.
The corresponding author will receive a link to Elsevier's platform via e-mail upon acceptance of the article. In the platform the author states the affiliation (Lund University) and can also add other information. Based on the stated affiliation, the current options for publishing are shown and the author can choose Gold open access. The information that the corresponding author has stated will then be sent on to the University Library where the author’s affiliation to Lund University is confirmed. After this, the article will be immediately open access when published.
