Ravensbrück in dialogue: A roundtable on archives, testimony, and memory
How can archives, personal testimony and research help us understand and remember the atrocities of Nazi persecution? This concluding roundtable brings together the speakers from the University Library’s Ravensbrück lecture series for a shared conversation.
This roundtable discussion marks the conclusion of the University Library’s lecture series on the Ravensbrück Archive and the Ravensbrück Memory of the World. The conversation brings together all speakers from the series to reflect on the themes explored throughout the lectures, including documentation, witnessing, memory, and the ongoing relevance of the Ravensbrück Archive today.
The discussion will be moderated by Annika Björkdahl, Professor of Political Science at Lund University, and features contributions from:
Urszula Chowaniec, Associate Professor of Literature, Lund University
Victoria Van Orden Martínez, PhD Researcher, Department of History and the North European Center for Research on Antisemitism and the Holocaust (NORAH)
Tomasz Lesniak, Library Assistant, Lund University Library
Barbara Törnquist-Plewa, Professor of Eastern and Deputy Dean at the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology, Lund University
Together, the participants will discuss how archival collections, scholarly research, and personal testimonies contribute to justice, historical understanding, and the preservation of memory for present and future generations.
The roundtable is open to the public, and no advance registration is required.
