How to request and borrow material

In our library catalogue LUBcat you can find publications from the University Library and whether it is located in our open collections or if you need to request the publication. The majority of our collections at the University Library are kept in our storages which means that you will have to request it in order to borrow. Please note that we do not handle requests during weekends.

When you have been notified that your requested publication is available you will find it on our pick up shelf.

The loan period for our loans is at least 28 days, although you can keep the loan up to 6 months unless noone else requests the same title. The maximum loan period for researchers is 12 months.

When the University Library is closed, you can return books at the book drop box on the west side of the building. You can also return University Library books at other libraries within Lund University.

Reading room loans

Some categories in our collections, such as for example Swedish fiction, cookbooks, schoolbooks, journals and yearbooks, are reading room loans only. They must be read at the library and can not leave the building. You can retrieve and borrow your reading room loans in our information desk. This is also where the loans will be stored when you are not using them.
