Researchers at Lund University can use agreements to publish open access with easy handling of the administrative processes and negotiated costs. Read more about the terms of the agreement here.
About the agreement
The agreement allows open access publishing in journals from IOP Publishing. Most of the publisher’s hybrid journals and all of its fully open access journals are included in the agreement. The agreement covers primary research papers (papers, special issue papers, reviews and letters). Initially the cost of publishing is paid by the University Library.
The corresponding author must be affiliated with Lund University, and the affiliation must be stated in the article.

Workflow for authors
When submitting a manuscript to an IOP journal, it is important to state the affiliation with Lund University and use the institutional e-mail address (ending with “lu.se” or “lth.se”). In this way, the article is automatically identified as valid for open access publishing within the agreement. IOP Press has an automated workflow for verification of affiliated author, where the article becomes open access immediately upon publication.

Publishing costs at Lund University
Parts of the costs of publishing, both within the agreements and those paid with the extra publishing support, are later invoiced to the faculties. Depending on how your faculty chooses to handle the costs, you may have to pay a part of the publication fee at a later stage.
