Read- and publish agreement
From January 2019, researchers at Lund University can publish open access in hybrid- and open access journals from Cambridge University Press (CUP) without paying any author fee.

About the agreement

The agreement is a national so-called “Read and Publish” agreement. It includes unlimited open access publishing in hybrid- and pure open access journals, as well as access to read the Cambridge University Press Full Collection of nearly 400 journals.

Journals included

The agreement includes publishing in both hybrid- and pure open access journals in the Cambridge University Press Full Collection. A hybrid journal is a journal that is subscription-based, but where individual articles can be made open access by paying a publishing fee.

Since the agreement with the publisher also applies to open access journals, no application is needed to the central APC-fund when publishing in CUP journals.

Workflow for authors

State your affiliation to Lund University and always use the LU / LTH e-mail in contact with the publisher.

When your article is accepted for publication, you will receive an e-mail from the journal, asking you to complete and submit a licence-to-publish form. Return the agreement to the journal and wait for a message from RightsLink.

  • You will receive an e-mail from RightsLink requesting APC payment
  • Login or create an account in RightsLink
  • Enter "Lund University" in the section "Affiliation discount", this entails the APC payment to be waived
  • Confirm the transaction

The article will be open access immediately upon publication.
