Catalogue -1957
Catalogue -1957 is a card catalogue listing Lund University Library’s holdings up to 1957. The catalogue is placed near the Circulation Desk and consists of one alphabetical section and one subject section. Literature printed before 1800 is listed both here and also mostly in our library catalogue Lovisa and can be requested there. From 1800 to 1957 a smaller section is recorded in Lovisa.

All literature listed in Catalogue -1957 is placed in closed stacks and must be requested in advance. Please note that literature printed before 1900 is for in-house use only.
In Catalogue -1957 you will find:
- books
- journals
But not:
articlesnewspapersmanuscripts, archives and other unprinted material or uncatalogued material (ephemera).
In the alphabetical catalogue you will normally find a book on the author’s surname. If the book has more than three authors or no author at all, the book will be listed on its title.
Journals are always found on the journal title.
In the Catalogue -1957 the titles are listed on the first noun in the nominative form. Quarterly review is therefore found under Review, quarterly.
