Data Management Plans (DMP)

Project on Data Management Plans
It is becoming an increasingly common requirement that researchers draw up a Data Management Plan (DMP) in connection with submitting a research application for an EU project or other international projects.

The University Library is currently working together with the library at the Faculty of Medicine on a project concerning data management plans, investigating possible future support functions, among other things. In spring of 2016, we tested a template for a data management plan on a number of researchers, and sent out a survey to Swedish research funding bodies. In the autumn of 2016, our work involves conducting a global strategic analysis on other countries’ policies concerning data management plans, and continued investigations on possible future support.


Starting 2017, the EU framework programme “Horizon 2020” will require all research applications to include a data management plan. So far, this has only been a requirement in a select number of areas. Read more here:
