For the capturing of images the following equipment has been used:
- Camera: Sinarcam 2 compact; Sinarback 23 digital back (3072x2048 pixels); SMAR macro digital back (5000 x 4000 pixels).
- Lenses: Sinaron digital 4,5/45 mm EF; Sinaron digital 5,6/90 mm EF; Hasselblad Makro Planar 5,6/135 mm; Hasselblad S-Planar 5,6/120 mm; Hasselblad Planar 2,8/80 mm; Nikon MicroNikkor 2,8/60 mm.
- Light: Broncolor grafit A4 (incl. 2 lamp heads)
- Manuscript cradle: Conservation Design Limited by Alan Buchanan, Bedford UK.

Other services can harvest information from St. Laurentius.
File Sizes
The images of each manuscript page can be large, from 15MB to 140MB when decompressed. Ideally a computer with at least 128MB memory and an Internet connection of 10Mbps should be used.
Image Sizes
Images viewed in the browser will decompress to full size (1:1) which for the detailed page .jpg files is not always convenient. You may wish to configure a suitable viewer such as ACDSee as a helper application. A video card and monitor capable of at least 1024 x 768 and 16-bit colour (65K colours) is recommended.
