How to Borrow & Make Requests

In our catalogues Lovisa and Catalogue -1957 you will find records of the literature held by the University Library and where it is placed.

Library catalogues

Collect from the Shelf in the Open Collection

In the Open Collection (location ÖS in Lovisa) you yourself collect the items you want. The book cannot be requested in advance.

Request in Advance from Closed Stacks

The largest part of our collections is placed in closed stacks (location Magasin or Depå in Lovisa) and must be requested in advance. The request should be done mainly in Lovisa. See Delivery times to the left. Items on loan could be placed on hold, see Queueing. Some items are not available for home loan (indicated by the word Läsesalslån in Lovisa).

Older materials are requested through the digitised Catalogue -1957 or on manual forms.

Journals/articles not possible to request in Lovisa may be requested with the following form:

Request of journals/articles not available to request in Lovisa (form – New window)

Other literature not possible to request in Lovisa can be requested if you send an e-mail to lan@ub.lu.se.

Concerning items from our special collections see Borrowing from our special collections to the left.

Request PDF files (the LUBITO service)

It will soon be possible to request articles to be scanned for free (expected starting point in the spring). This is how it will work: a link to the PDF file will be e-mailed to you on the following weekday.
