The information on this page is valid only for claims and invoices regarding material belonging to the University Library (UB). For information on material from other libraries in the library network, please contact the owning library.
Items from the University Library have a minimum loan period of 28 days. Thereafter, unless anyone recalls the item, the maximum loan period is 6 months (12 months for researchers). If anyone recalls the book after the minimum loan period, you have to return it immediately.
In case the item is not recalled, it must still be returned when the maximum loan period has ended.
When you borrow an item from us, you are responsible for it until we have registered the item as returned in our computer system. You are also responsible for keeping track of the due date, which (as noted above) may or may not change during the loan period. The best way for you to keep track of your loans is by regularly logging in to your account in Lovisa, the library catalogue. You must also keep your contact details updated for that account, especially the e-mail adress.
If you do not return an item when it is due, we will send two reminders to the e-mail address you specified in your contact details. If you still do not return our property, we will then send you an invoice, charging you with the full acquisition cost of the item plus a handling cost of 300 SEK per book. Please return the item immediately, before paying the invoice! Because when you return it, you no longer have to pay for the item – but you still have to pay the handling cost.
Please note that the reminders are sent only on e-mail. We do not send reminders through regular mail. The reminders are only an additional help; it is still your responsibility to keep track of loans, due dates and recalls.
